AURA NOTES / PRIVACY
Your notes stay yours.
Privacy Policy · Effective September 20, 2026
AURA Notes: Writing Studio is developed by Andres Alejandro Fernandez Davalos. This policy describes the app’s handling of notes and related information.
Information in the app
Your notes, tasks, tags, folders, attachments, recordings and version history are stored by the app on your device, with optional iCloud sync as described below. The developer does not collect this content through developer-operated servers. The app has no advertising, tracking, or external analytics tools and does not require a developer account.
Apple Intelligence and voice
Writing Studio uses Apple’s Foundation Models framework for generation on your device. Note content is not sent to an external AI API. You review suggestions before applying them, and the original content is preserved.
Voice recognition is configured to require on-device recognition. If local recognition is unavailable for your device or language, transcription may be unavailable; the app does not switch to an external AI transcription API. Audio recordings and resulting transcripts form part of your app content.
Optional iCloud sync
When iCloud is available and enabled for AURA Notes, the app uses the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account to synchronize supported data. This is Apple’s infrastructure, not a developer-operated notes server. Manage iCloud access in system Settings. Local note-taking remains available without iCloud. Apple’s own terms and privacy policy govern its services.
Permissions you control
- Camera: scan documents into notes when you choose to use scanning.
- Photos and files: system pickers let you select items to attach. The app receives the items you choose rather than unrestricted access to your library.
- Microphone: record voice notes when you start recording.
- Speech recognition: transcribe voice recordings using supported on-device recognition.
- Notifications: deliver reminders you schedule.
- Biometrics: Face ID or Touch ID can authorize access to supported locking features. Authentication is handled by the system; the app does not receive your biometric templates.
You can decline optional access or change it later in Settings. The corresponding feature may then be unavailable. The current app’s reminders use local notifications; it does not request access to your system Calendar or Reminders database.
Vault and App Lock
You may protect selected notes with Vault and use App Lock to limit access to the app. Device security, your passcode and your handling of shared or exported copies still matter. These features do not protect a copy after you export it to another destination.
Backups, exports and deletion
You choose when to create backup files or export notes as Markdown or PDF, and where to save or share them. Copies outside AURA Notes are governed by the storage or service you choose. Keep backup files in a location you trust.
You can delete content in the app. Synced changes depend on iCloud availability. Deleting the app or a note does not automatically remove exports, separately saved backups or copies you shared. Manage those copies and any device or iCloud backups separately.
Support and this website
If you contact support, the information you choose to send is used to understand and respond to your request. Avoid sending private notes, passwords or unrelated personal information. Email is handled by the email providers used for that correspondence.
This policy’s app statements do not describe every service on the developer’s broader website. AURA Notes pages do not intentionally load the site’s Google Analytics integration. The web host may process technical request information needed to serve and secure these pages.
